Are you opting for an adhesive contact breast form?

Advantages. Choosing an adhesive external breast prosthesis is a very personal decision. Some women who cannot bear the feeling of the removable breast prosthesis in their prosthetic bra then reach for a fixed breast prosthesis. The distribution of the weight of the prosthesis directly on the chest then helps to alleviate back problems due to incorrect positioning. 

In order to switch from a classic silicone breast prosthesis to a fixed silicone breast prosthesis, you still have to observe a few conditions in order not to regret your choice.    

No painful or brittle scars: in fact, the weight of the prosthesis glued directly to the skin could damage a scar that is still brittle. Therefore, we recommend that you wait a year after breast surgery to switch to self-adhesive external breast prostheses.   

The operated area should be as smooth and flat as possible to facilitate adhesion of the prosthesis.   

Always apply your fixed breast prosthesis to clean, dry skin   

It is not recommended to bathe with an adhesive external breast prosthesis as it may affect the stickiness of the prosthesis.  

What bra do you wear with an adhesive contact breast form? 

One of the great benefits of self-adhesive breast forms is that you can finally get out your old lingerie! In fact, you no longer need a post-op bra with a breast prosthesis pocket. 

However, we recommend that you do not wear your external self-adhesive breast prosthesis without a bra. Because even if the self-adhesive breast prosthesis sticks very well and lasts a whole day without any problems, it still needs a bra to be well cared for. 

In order to maximize your chances of maintaining the adhesion of an adhesive external breast prosthesis, it is necessary to take proper care of it. In fact, you only have the right to renew your external silicone breast prosthesis every 18 months.

It would be a shame if she got worse in the meantime.
