Based on medical honey and hyaluronic acid, Cicatrimel is a gel created by Alvadiem, specifically designed to enhance the healing process of wounds – whether they are acute, chronic, or burns. It is ideal for everyday injuries, but also useful for more serious issues, such as burns caused by radiotherapy.

This sterile medical device combines two key active ingredients:

  • Medical thyme honey: known for its antibacterial and healing properties.

  • Hyaluronic acid: helps maintain a moist environment that promotes skin regeneration.

  • Cicatrimel gel is composed of 99.8% honey and 0.2% hyaluronic acid.

Cicatrimel is a class IIb medical device, cold-sterilized to preserve its natural benefits. It aims to speed up healing, eliminate wound odors, and allow for pain-free dressing changes.

This honey-based gel is recommended for various types of wounds and injuries:

  • Everyday wounds: cuts, scrapes, grazes, and 1st or 2nd-degree burns

  • Deep wounds, even infected ones: open surgical wounds, inflamed or traumatic wounds

  • Chronic wounds: pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, necrotic wounds, and diabetic ulcers

Good to know:

Honey is a natural product and its texture and appearance may change over time. Sterilization used to create the healing gel can make it appear foamy and cause slight product leakage when opening the tube. Don’t worry – this is completely normal and doesn’t affect the product’s effectiveness. To prevent this, Alvadiem recommends storing the product upright.

Do not use in case of allergy or sensitivity to honey or hyaluronic acid.
If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.

Alvadiem advice for good wound healing

  • Rinse the wound with saline solution.
  • Gently dry the edge of the wound.
  • Cover the entire surface of the wound or the secondary dressing (preferably a greasy tulle) with a thin film of Cicatrimel. There is no need to fill cavitated wounds.
  • Cover with compresses and an occlusive dressing during the first few applications for very exudative wounds.
