The OncoNeivia Cooling Cap minimizes hair loss caused by chemotherapy.

The OncoNeivia Cooling Cap promotes vasoconstriction in the hair follicles, starting from the base of the neck. This means that the blood vessels narrow with the cold, preventing large chemotherapy molecules from entering. This helps preserve your hair.

The cooling cap remains flexible at any temperature and perfectly covers the entire head.

What to expect during chemotherapy when wearing an OncoNeivia cooling cap?

Before the session:

• Preparation: The cap is placed on your head before chemotherapy begins. It should have good contact with the scalp.
• Duration: The cap must be worn before, during, and after chemotherapy, lasting from 1 to 3 hours, depending on your treatment.

During the session:

• Sensation: At first, you may feel an intense cold sensation that can last 10 to 15 minutes. After that, most patients get used to it. Headaches or a tingling sensation may occur.
• Comfort: We recommend bringing a warm sweater, a blanket, and a good book or podcast to help distract you.

After the session:

• After removal: Once chemotherapy is completed, the cap remains on your head for an additional 30 to 60 minutes. After this, you can remove the cap and resume your usual activities.

How to use the OncoNeivia cooling cap to minimize hair loss during chemotherapy?

• Place the hypothermic cap in the freezer at least 2 hours before the session starts.
• Adjust the cap on the scalp 15 minutes before the chemotherapy session begins.
• Change the cap every 30 minutes for maximum effectiveness.
• Keep the cap on for at least 30 minutes after chemotherapy ends.
• Clean the cap with a damp towel and/or a disinfectant product (e.g., Surfanios).
• Do not immerse the cap in water. Never soak it in water.
• Dry thoroughly before placing it back in the freezer.
